The results also show that 71% of Latino voters plan to vote in the upcoming election.
What Do the Polls Show?
This is particularly reflected among those living in key states like Michigan and Pennsylvania.
Additionally, 74% of respondents say they are closely following news about the 2024 United States elections.
«Our hope is that with this poll, we can reshape the way Latino voters are perceived, both at the national and state levels.»
«However, the most important thing is that we help our own community get to the polls,» said Frankie Miranda, president of the Hispanic Federation, during a press conference held in Pennsylvania.
What About Latino Voters?
Miranda emphasized that the results «confirm that Latinos are paying attention and are concerned about the upcoming elections.»
The poll, conducted between October 2 and 10 with a sample of 1,900 Latinos, shows that 60% of respondents became more interested in voting following Harris’s candidacy.
«There is stronger support for the Democratic party through issues like immigration, working-class concerns, and other matters,» noted Matt Barreto, director of the Democratic firm BSP Research.
Barreto also mentioned Kamala Harris’ record investment in the Latino community and campaign events in states like Pennsylvania, Arizona, and Nevada to mobilize Latino voters.
What Awaits Donald Trump?
This comes in contrast to Donald Trump’s reduction in Latino staff and campaign committees.
Meanwhile, most Latinos see the cost of living and inflation as their top concern (59%).
Employment (38%) and the cost and access to housing (32%) are also major issues.
Other concerns include reproductive rights, climate change, the situation at the Mexico border, and access to healthcare, according to the report from EFE.
